Welcome to Eternally Secure Forever, the premiere website where
you will learn beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you have trusted in
the Lord Jesus Christ as your only Eternal Life Giver/Savior, if you
have received His free gift of eternal life by faith alone in Him alone,
then you are right now once saved, always saved, and kept by Him
forever, you will never ever in any way, shape, or form go to Hell,
since you have believed in Him and been saved. This site is under
construction but let's start with some basics:
The Bible is God's written Word, Divinely-inspired, free of all error,
and guaranteed trustworthy. Let us see what the Gospel of John chapter 5
verse 24 states:
Jesus Himself promises "Verily verily I say unto you, he who
hears my word and believes on Him who sent me has everlasting life and
will not come into condemnation but has passed from death unto
life."
What does this wonderful gem mean? It means exactly what it says: That
every single individual human person who is convinced that Jesus Christ
is their only eternal Savior now has everlasting eternal life and will
never be condemned. They will never face the condemnation of those who
reject His free gift of eternal life. Notice what He does not say. He
does not say "Those who believe and commit' or "Those who
believe and get water baptised" or "Those who believe and do
good works" or "Those who believe and endure to the end"
or "Those who believe and perform sacraments" or "Those
who believe and obey me" or "Those who believe and live a life
of holiness." The one, single, sole, only condition for receiving
eternal life is to BELIEVE IN Jesus Christ as your ONLY Eternal Life
Giver.
You may say "But does that mean once saved we have a license to sin
and do as we want?" No! Because first of all, as soon as you
believe in Him and receive eternal life
you become a NEW CREATURE, a NEW Creation, supernaturally made alive,
regenerated, and while you are not to trust feelings or subjective
experiences to see this, you now have the Word of God planted and living
within your spirit, your regenerated spirit. You will still struggle
with sin because now you have two natures, the old fallen nature and the
new regenerated nature, and there will be resistance to sin. There will
be sorrow and there will be loss of rewards, loss of joy, and much
sorrow and even Divine fatherly discipline from God, out of love for
you. To continue in a life of sin as a believer does not cause you to
lose eternal life nor prove you are not saved, but what it does do is
cause you to live a life of sorrow whether you admit it or not, and lead
to loss of potential eternal rewards and positions of rulership in God's
eternal kingdom.
One of the core problems is this: People overlap and mix verses where
God clearly distinguishes Position and Fellowship or Practice. Position
is who you are, your new citizenship, by faith alone in Christ alone,
also called Justification, and is a once for all event that can never be
lost or repeated or reversed, once you have believed in Him for eternal
life. Your practice or fellowship, also called
sanctification, can suffer and diminish depending on how you live the
Christian life, how much you cooperate with the working of God the Holy
Spirit in your life, and so there are degrees of dedication and degrees
of rewards as Paul shows in 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. Notice in 1
Corinthians 9:27 Paul himself was clear that he could lose rewards, but
never does he ever even hint that he or any other Christian can lose
eternal life once they have it.
Perhaps one of the least discussed and least taught but foundational
Biblical doctrines is that of the rewards of the believer. The issue of
the believer's reward in God's eternal kingdom is of vital importance to
how Christians live here and now. One important set of passages is to be
found in Apostle Paul's Letter to the Corinthians Church, 1 Corinthians
3:10-15
In here Paul discusses how there is a special judgement for the believer
in Christ. Every person present there is a saved eternally secure
person. The place is the Bema Seat, the Judgement Seat of the Lord Jesus
Christ. This judgement has nothing to do with where we will spend
eternity. Remember what Jesus Himself said in John 5:24: The
believer will never come under condemnation. He means what He says. The
person who has received His free gift of eternal life which He bought
for all humans on the Cross of Calvary will never face the condemnation
of eternal torment in Hell which the person who rejects Him as Savior
will definitely face. But this does not mean there is no judgement. The
issue at the Bema Seat will not be "Where will you spend
eternity?" but rather, "How will you spend it and with what
level of authority and rulership in Christ's Kingdom will you
dwell?" Paul goes on to describe how each one of our lives (saved
persons) will be examined by the Lord (whether this is between us and
God and all Christians, or just us and God Himself/Jesus Christ, we are
not explicitly told); those actions, thoughts, deeds, investments, etc
which we made, our we lived our life, our works and words and thoughts,
will be gone through. Unconfessed/undealt with sin while it will not bar
us from Heaven positionally, messed over our fellowship with Christ, and
all those futile works we did "in the flesh" will be burned up
as wood, hay, stubble, ie, worthless things. Those things we did for Him
with a good motive, out of love for Him and love for other people, and
yes, out of desire to be rewarded by Him which is a totally legitimate
motive as Jesus Himself said in the Parables of the Stewards, will be
rewarded, and are examined as precious metals, gold, silver, gems.
Depending on how we lived our lives for Him here on Earth, we will
receive levels of rulership and authority in His kingdom. Every believer
will have tremendous joy, will be beloved of God and will personally
meet with Jesus Christ and have an eternity full of joy. But some
believers will have a greater capacity of joy than others. Furthermore,
even the smallest most insignificant (to us) things, such as giving
someone a cup of cold water for Christ and out of love for them, or even
giving a penny in His Name, will be rewarded, so most likely every
believer will have at least something rewardable, but some will have
greater rewards than others.
